Actress Parineeti Chopra, who often receives criticism from Twitter, was ridiculed once again and this time for her comments on Bollywood wage discrimination. In a segment called TapeCast in an interview of Film Companion, the actress told Sidharth Malhotra that she believes that female stars support “more” brands to compensate for the wage gap: “I always felt I deserved a little more, but I got a lot but We invented with endorsements. Girls make many endorsements. So, we invented it there. That’s why I never talk about it because boys don’t do as many endorsements as girls, and I hope to be right and not to be wrong. But we like many beauty commercials, hair commercials, I think we cover it with that. ”

Parineeti’s comments about the wage disparity did not fall too well on a section of Twitter, which condemned his comments and said: “She has lost it.” A Twitter user wrote: “Basically, you’re working harder to ‘make up’ the lower salary. She said it herself … But she couldn’t hear herself,” while another commented sarcastically: “Who cares salary parity when you can do beauty and hair commercials. ”

During her appearance on Film Companion’s Tapecast, where she was promoting her next movie Jabariya Jodi along with her co-star Sidharth Malhotra, the actress said: “I always felt I deserved a little more, but I only got this. But then we invented it with guarantees. The girls make many endorsements, so we invented it. That’s why I never talk about it (pay parity) because boys don’t make as many guarantees as girls. I hope to be right We do as many beauty commercials and hair commercials as many brands and I think we cover it a bit. ”

At a time when actors, both men and women, from all over the world are defending gender pay parity in the film industry, Parineeti’s statement has been a shock to many.

The actress has faced severe criticism on social networks, and an Internet section called her “dumb.”

Meanwhile, some users pointed out how Sidharth, co-star of Jabariya Jodi of Parineeti, maintained a serious face while sharing his views. Sidharth is the ambassador for the cosmetics brand MyGlamm and has also endorsed beauty products such as Ponds and Men’s Fair And Lovely.

Parineeti Chopra represents lifestyle brands such as Godrej Hair Color, Panteen, Spinz, Spaces, Boro Plus, Nivea, Speedo, Lyra; food brands like Vadilal, Maaza, Kurkure and also technological labels such as JBL, Nokia and Videocon.

While Deepika Padukone is the second most endorsed celebrity, male stars like Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Amitabh Bachchan dominate the list.
